Ok, so we have just announced major changes to the game and the company behind it, so, I thought it would be good to get another AMA happening. I am struggling to keep up with all the threads across various social media, so, here is your chance to get your comments and questions answered!

As usual, I will collate the questions and answer them in an AMA live stream.

  1. You mentioned a closed beta, is this something we apply for or will you reach out to players for it? Is there a timeline for closed beta?
  2. Will there be app support for those that want to keep playing V1.0? Or will they need to get the physical cards for patch 12?
  3. I know it was brought up already, but have you had a chance to confirm with Creature Caster about possibility of second heads for minotaur kits
  4. It was mentioned that could do different scenarios terrain configurations with the hex system.  Would this be a rotation per year or something? Or would things stay static for competitive like they are now and the different scenarios would be for one off events/casual play?
  5. Is it possible to get a list of Creature Caster models that will be getting rules for Judgement with the release of 2.0 so that we can order those models now and get painted prior to release?
  6. Will we have to wait until the release of V2.0 for the new Creature Caster sculpts to be released?
  7. Along with the above, will all the resculpts be available for launch of V2.0?

There seems to be quite a bit of concern with Creature casters current style, and how prevalent it will be in Judgement models. I have serious reservations about the nude models. There are routinely children in our game store, and 2 young children that live in the same building that walk through regularly.

This would be a non starter for my play group.

We have already been told one nude model already has rules. Is this going to be a common release thing? One model? What can we expect?

Re-edited after watching Twitch announcement again and further thought.  Overall love the announcements.

1. Love the look of the new minis but I feel they are being pushed into a generic daemonic vibe. My concerns are that minis like Minotaurs (majestic, nature protectors, proud), shamanic orcs (mystical, nature aligned, barbaric), goblins (mischievous, crafty), are all going to look humanoid and daemonic.  I'd hate to lose the feel and give of Bale/Sarnas, Gendris, Haksa etc ...

2. Will the "convention" 54mm models be reliably released in Australia?  I'd want them but would be frustrated if it's only available in US or in person.

3.  Will Australia still benefit from the decent price point (before we were still subject to USD fluctuations)?

4. Can the starter pack use the new characters to avoid overlap for those with existing models?  Or 2 types of starter packs:
  1. Brand new starter pack being a mix of resculpts and new CC.
  2. J1.0 expansion pack with just new CC, maps and stuff to get going on 2.0.

Forgot to ask, but mentioned in Discord.  How do 1 inch to 3 inch pushes work? Seems having to stay completely within a hex limits nuanced play.

Instead should it be:
  • Large 45mm hexes in bold outline for movement/relative movement if outside of the large hex
  • Smaller hexes inside the large hex for more nuanced movement and blocking.
This means you have the ease of large movements but the nuance of the small hexes.

Maybe bases should be hex shaped too.

1. Can you share how movement will work on a hex grid?

2. Can you share a new stat card for a hero ie Rakkir? (See discord)

3. how will Line of Sight work?

4. Will rules and model stats be available for free in 2.0?

5. how will contesting shrines work?

6. are there any changes to how monsters work?

7. What is the layout of the hexes on the map?

8. Could you put together a Open Beta play kit, ie package deal of the current Creature Caster Models that will have rules, printable 3v3 map, and rules?  That feels like a good holiday season item.

9. What will the distribution model for Judgement 2.0?

You could save a lot of time and just release the alpha version 🙂

Again on the nudity in models, what will the companies stance be on nudity for offical play? Will there models with both nude and modest versions realeased? Will nude versions be banned for offical tournaments to keep a family friendly stance? As someone who plans to have kids and wants to share this hobby with said kids, nudity in any kind of offical copacity will probably keep me from being able to play with children outside the home.

Hey guys,

As one of the main changes of the game is to help growth.
Will you be expanding on support for lgs and individuals who want to grow the game in their area.

Such as:

-a recommended "core stock" that will make it easy for a game store owner who doesn't play to know what to stock.

-A pressganger/warcor style program to help grow the game

-Intro scenarios to help teach new players the mechanics that add new rules per match.

On a similar note will the new maps "backgrounds" be interchangeable. Ie will the scenarios be set per the hex layout so you can setup the same scenario on cobblestone or a swamp map and the difference is more an asethic choice.

This will make holding tournaments alot easier than it is currently

Is there a new starter box planned to include the hex map and CC models?  If so, would be great if that could be some of the existing cc models that will port into the game as new heros - would also mean that existing stock of starter boxes at LGS are still of value to get the models and tokens.

Agreed, I'm hoping it's not any existing resculpts as we all have those already.

Or 2 starter packs:

  1. Brand new starter pack being a mix of resculpts and new CC.

- Will CC do all of the sculpts going forward?
- Will judgement continue to avoid using distributors?
- Will there be periodic Kickstarters?
- Combining two ranges... are there thoughts of approaching other companies to get their sculpts into judgement too? As a MOBA pretty much anything could work, particularly with 32mm being a pretty common scale.

Which CC models will be compatible with judgement? Looking through their online store, it seems that the smallest models are about 54mm, with most up around 150mm? Didn't see any 32mm at all. Would love to getter them some business and get painting if you guys can announce a few models that will cross over.

1a. Which resculpts are you most excited to see Creature Caster do?
1b. Which do you think might be the most challenging to resculpt?
1c. Is there a threshold on additional skulls on resculpts before there are, in fact, too many skulls?
1d. Who are the most wholesome Judgement heroes in the game?

2. Will Zhonyja be resculpted for her original version, or the post-Kruul storyline version?

3. What is the expected release cadence/timeline for the CC resculpts?
3b. How is the resculpt order being prioritized (e.g. Older heroes, monsters, whatever CC decides to work on and gets done, etc.)?
3c. How does that influence the release of brand new models (e.g. the elementalist)?

4. Will there be a Judgement 2.0 Starter Box, with different heroes than the current starter boxes? Which other heroes do you think would be good to include in a starter?

5. Are there any other major mechanical changes currently in testing apart from hex-based movement (e.g. unique soulgazer/defender/aggressor rules, soul behavior, monster behavior, first turn/side picking, etc.)?

6a. Are there currently balance changes in place on specific heroes to account for the homogenization of 1" and 2" melee ranges? Any examples?
6b. Bounties from 1" melee range monsters previously could be safely collected by 2" melee heroes. Is collecting bounties from monsters universally more dangerous in Judgement 2.0?

7. The most obvious differentiating factor Judgement previously had was the larger models. What is the 1-2 sentence elevator pitch/differentiating factor for Judgement 2.0 vs. other games when pitching it to potential new players?

Finally had a chance to watch the stream.

You guys are calling this 32mm. But the biomancer, which will get a judgement profile, is 50mm tall (55 with the base) according to the CC site. I know most judgement models were way taller than the official 54mm scale. J2 might be 32mm for a human, but is it safe to say a lot of models will be much bigger than the scale, just as was the case for J1?

1) With all the talk on charges now being easier/more ways to execute, this will mean RNG/MAG heroes will be engaged more often. Taking into account not all information has been revealed for J2, would this increase melee aggressor heroes in warband selection? In fact melee overall in the game?
2) With regards to some of the sculpt's, will break points, bows, lazer's, daggers, lanterns, and so forth be taken into account? Would hate to still worry about such things.
3) Now that the scale has been reduced will there be options for buying models as a box set?  Or a more you buy the cheaper it is? Will the starter box for J2 (if any) come with 6 heroes and a monster?
4) With regards to the original maps, is there any thoughts in providing players with some type of grid/fold out poster or do we have to purchase these again?
5) Would another kickstarter help soften the blow for "original "players whilst help bring in new players?
